Okay, you just started your arcade, or you are just setting an arcade with multiple types via a 100% recycled shopping mall. You are just brainstorming a primary theme what you are preferring to set. You are picking out machines that will be included for your customers to play games, ride rides, have lunch/dinner, or even host gaming nights. Having a consistent theme is important for keeping your arcade relevant for your customers. The more relevant your theme is, the better!

People Have These Following Questions:

  • Can I have a theme of fairies?
  • Can my arcade have a core theme, but include other themes?
  • Can my arcade have a theme of farming, and farm animals?
  • Can my arcade have a theme of a zoo?
  • Can my arcade have a theme of anime?
  • Can my arcade have a theme of mermaids under the sea?
  • Can my arcade have a theme of trains and railways?

Choosing a theme for an arcade is very important as you make a correct choice. However; you should use common sense as you choose a theme. If you choose a theme that is illegal, and it has certain content that should never be available for general audience… your arcade may be shuttered, and you’ll be end up in court. Here are the following themes what you should never include in your arcade:

    Sex (period)
  • Pornography (period)
  • Guns and other weapons (period)
  • Nudity (period)
  • Rape (period)
  • Bigotry of any kind
  • Terrorism
  • Materials that glorify bullying (period)

If you are choosing a theme; you need to choose a theme that is your preferred theme for your arcade,–especially if you have a core theme set.

If you are setting up a theme about riding animals, you need to pick out some games and rides for your arcade that matches your theme. For example; you got a coin-operated dog to ride for children and adults, and you got a hourseback-riding simulator with true animal-shaped machines to ride, or you have a digital version of an arcade game or ride. Each game has a different animal to ride.

If your arcade has a theme of trains as your core theme; you need to pick out correct arcade machines that are suitable for your establishment. A theme of a railway is not enough. You need to ensure you diversify your arcade with different machines. The more organized your arcade is, the better.

If your arcade has an equestrian theme, such as ponies, and horses to ride; you need to include games that matches your theme. If your theme is relevant; your customers can easily find a game to play, or a ride to ride. For example; you are an avid cowboy/cowgirl who fulljoy riding animals. You have a set of equipment that is relevant for your arcade, such as coin-operated horses to ride, and other machines that are focused on equestrian sports. You can also include artificial horses for people to sit on. Even a carousel with horses can match your theme. As a prospective; people who are fans of riding horses can fill up your arcade, and have some conversations about riding skills, and other topics that are relevant.

If your arcade has a theme of pets; you can include game and rides that are relevant.

If your arcade has a theme of a forest; you can include games and rides that are relevant, for example; a game that focuses on saving our forests, and a ride that focuses on a trip through a forest.

Choosing a theme with a wise decision, and planning it out on paper is very important to keep your arcade relevant.

If You Have Chosen A Right Theme

If you chosen a right theme, and you kept it consistent, your arcade can be easy to recognize, and your customers can still visit your arcade. Familiarity is important. If this the case, follow the following guidelines:

Don’t Change Your Theme Without Asking Your Customers Or Receiving Feedback

If you have an arcade with a core theme, don’t change it. If you have some arcades with a set theme, and you are still experimenting, always check if any of these themes are relevant. Finalizing your theme via your large arcade with multiple “sub-arcades” in your large building should go last. However; if you have a potentially-unwanted theme, such as sex and pornography… you can replace it with something different.

If your arcade is being visited by Rastafarian customers, avoid including sexualized themes. Always go for any theme that is not associated with Babylon.

Don’t Put ALL Of The Eggs In Just One Basket

Cramming, stuffing, and even making your arcade cluttered can cause issues for your customers who are trying to find a relevant game or ride in your arcade. Most budget arcades use this strategy that is NOT correct. This is a know issue for people who are trying to rely on these fun places to play games, or ride any amusement rides. Choosing money over people is also NOT a good idea because, people should always go first.

If you bought a large building with floors, and you implemented extensions to expand your arcade, you need to spread out your machines. Always sort and categorize, just like sorting posts on your blog on the internet, books in our public libraries where we can check out books, an aisle in a store where relevant products are available to purchase, a restaurant menu, a large amusement park with relevant rides via a category, a gated community with multiple divisions, and more. If you only have a small arcade, you can use few games to start off with to test out your preferred theme. This is useful for setting up a specific theme.

Make Your Games Or Rides Easy To Find

Ensure these machines are carefully inserted, and you have enough room for your large arcade. This is necessary to ensure you have enough room for people who are on wheelchairs, white canes, etc. Even an organized arcade can really help a customer find s game or ride without any effort. The greater the arcade is organized, the better.

Making these machines easy to find is very important. Its like chapters in a book, or even a movie to find in a store.

Sounds they make, lights that flash, or even a machine to feel with your hand… these machines must be easy to find with these methods like audible cues, visual cues, etc.

People Believed Older Arcades Are Better

Keep older parts of your arcade open because, you can still make money with classics because, people may like them overtime. Classics can be a great category for some people who wanted to play or ride these classic machines. Never remove classics from your arcade because, they’re reliable, and people may prefer them over newer tech,–until everything is ironed out, and ready to use. Sometimes, old tech can be better than you thought.

Don’t gouge prices because, high prices can lead to further issues. Only quality games can have a higher price,–if the following guidelines has been applied:

  • Technical craftsmanship
  • Software craftsmanship
  • As an art form
  • Value

Overtime, your valuable machines can be a visited by new people via newer generations. However; keeping track of these machines is very important because, you need to properly maintain these devices. Always use common sense. Never use these corporate practices that are not kosher. Even bringing an arcade machine from being obsolete can be helpful. This is necessary to ensure system hardware is rebuilt, and running. Even one technical trick can save valuable material with common sense.
