Virginia opossums are the known species of opossums what we've encountered at the eastern part of the USA. These animals can eat ticks, snakes, and even rodents. They can also eat other insects to help us live correctly. These tick-eating machines has also prevented us from getting serious Lyme disease.
There are vast numbers of opossums in the United States of America. And some of us take them for granted like attracting them in gardens, building opossum boxes, and we used to farm them for products since years ago. Typically, opossums hasn't been domesticated by humans because, they're often hunted as meat source, or pelt source. These animals are clean creatures, and they can eat vast majority of ticks. They're solitary animals, but they do help humans reduce ticks. Without opossums, humans aren't able to live correctly, and pesticide costs may go up.
